Fighting Point Inflation
Users are racking up 100s of points from simply registering books. This is great, but we need to consider the whatonmybookshelf economy. Points, after significant book registering at 1 point per 5 books, become almost meaningless. Yes, we have the community investment system in place but it seems silly for users to be sitting on 50 points all from just registering books. After all isn't book trading about trading??
To combat this issue I have implemented a new point system.
For every 5 books that you register up to 100 books you get 1 point per book (you can get 20 points just from registering books!!). After registering 100 books on the site you no longer get the bonus because it is assumed that you will make your points by shipping books that users want. This is not a punishment but an even better incentive to register popular books that the community will request.
